The steel insideevery transformer
A silicon-iron alloy with the metal's crystals aligned to slash core loss. Rolled as thin as nine-thousandths of an inch, melted and finished entirely in the United States.
Engineered at the
grain level.
Oriented Grain Structure
The alloy's crystals are aligned along the rolling direction, so magnetic flux travels the easy axis. The result is dramatically lower hysteresis loss inside the core.
High-Silicon Chemistry
Silicon raises electrical resistivity and suppresses eddy currents. We push content up to 6% — far beyond conventional grades — for the highest core conductivity.
Nine-Thousandths Gauge
Rolled into sheets as thin as 0.009 inches and stacked by hand into laminations. Thinner laminations mean fewer eddy currents and a cooler, quieter transformer.
Low Core Loss
Domain-refined and tension-coated to reach core loss below 0.9 W/kg at 1.7T. Every coil is Epstein-tested and certified before it leaves the mill.

One of the only
mills in the U.S.
Grain-oriented electrical steel is a strategic material — and almost none of it is made domestically. We melt, roll, anneal, and coat a full range of grades on U.S. soil, insulating the grid from fragile overseas supply chains.
Measured in
watts and microns.
Wherever energy
changes form.
From grid-scale power transformers to EV traction motors — anywhere a magnetic core has to move flux without wasting it.
Certified to
the coil.
Transformer cores run for decades — the steel inside them can't vary. Every heat is refined to spec, every coil is tested, and every shipment is fully traceable.
ASTM A876 certified
Every grade is tested and certified to the ASTM A876 standard for grain-oriented electrical steel.
Epstein-tested coils
Core loss and permeability verified on the Epstein frame — a mill certificate ships with every coil.
Full traceability
Heat-to-coil chemistry, gauge, and magnetic data are logged and retained for the life of the material.
Domestic & compliant
100% U.S. melt-and-pour, eligible for Buy America and federal grid-infrastructure procurement.
